Hi to all my AMAZING clients, friends & client-friends...
I have been talking with a lot of you about meditation. Like everything that is good for you, meditation is work and a process of incremental growth. It is not a rite or wrong thing! It is a will I or wont I thing. Something I have found special about Kundalini Kriya and meditation is not only does it train the mind to slow down it simultaneously strengthen your WILL POWER. Yogi Bhajan often said the hardest part of a yoga and meditation practices is getting one's self on the mat "KEEP UP AND YOU WILL BE KEPT UP".
SO, JUST DO IT.... Sounds easy.... WELL......IT IS NOT, AND SHOULD NOT, BE EASY.
Think of the western term WORKOUT, it has the word work in it for a reason. Meditation is a workout for your brain. Being that I know many of you have nice big brains... lets get started.
THE SAT KRIYA CHALLENGE - I call it a challenge because.... You will soon find out.
Sat Kriya is one of the most powerful and complete postures/kriyas Yogi Bhajan taught. It is an "entire Yoga class in one posture". Sat Kriya is fundamental to Kundalini yoga and meditation.
Yogi B. said this Kriya could be practiced on its own every day, and if done correctly it would give its doer all they need to succeed. He also was know to say that If you put your shit under a ton of pressure you get a diamond.... so lets start together to shine with 3 minutes of SAT KRIYA a day for 1 week. Its effects are numerous, try it and you will see your personal power shine!
We will then build our practice up to 12 min of Sat Kriya a day over the next four weeks.

OMG ITS BEEN WELL OVER 30 DAYS and I am still at Spinal Flex Kriya with Sat Kriya and feeling amazing
im hanging on with three minutes on week three! AND, after you're amazing work on my energy the other day, fully commited to the cold shower every morning beforehand.....it's kind of incredible, as you said it would be! ; ) THANKS mister!
Week two went by so fast! I only managed one day for a bracing shower before 3 minutes of breathing but the glass of water is an easy and helpful addition, did that every day! Better energy every day!
Today was a beautiful morning practice where all kinds of things came into focus. Having that quiet time in the morning to sit, move, open up, and find some balance before starting my day is AMAZING. Still at 3 min with Sat Kriya and still loving its energy boost. I am working with and having realized today I have been working with for many years now, a simple and profound Kundalini Yoga Kriya called -BASIC SPINAL ENERGY SERIES- can anyone say Craniolsacral Therapy....BRAIN OF BRIAN GOES BOOM

Sometimes a body gets a poltergeist, an Energy Cyst, something out of wack. Today, in this body, it is in the sacrum. Maybe a twist the wrong way, or a holding pattern the brain goes in and out off...
Being that today is one of those days, working slowly during mornings practice was important. Paying close attention to what this body is saying, and this mind is reacting to came into focus. As we sat together we learned so much from hearing one another.
Week 2 already.....
Surprise we are sticking to 3 min.
Our change is this: If you are not doing this already, please practice SAT KRIYA 1st thing in the morning, after a cold shower and some warm up exercises of your choosing that get your blood pumping. Also DRINK A FULL GLASS OF WATER.
Now that we are forming a new habit, lets try this.
Starting tomorrow with a morning practice, do SAT KRIYA, as you have been, (IMPORTANT if you have not added relaxation for 3-6 min after, do that.) for 3 days, and then skip a day.

So ready for week two, what’s the timer set to? From three to five?
Well here I am again. Today Kriya was interesting... I am staying at a friend place in NYC so new location, new pattern, new things rise to the surface. Im am observing them as they come with welcome arms. I spent yesterday in day one of an UBER NERDY Cranioscral Workshop. Nerdy because day one was heavy on Nervous System Anatomy. Do you know where your circle of Willis is....
Its cool..... With that in mind... My meditation today was full of mind activity, I am in learning and thinking mode. I AM SO EXCITED to get back to class and learn what western minds have discovered for a "NEW" of what YOGIS have known for 10,000 years. Craniosacral work seems to describe ( often in WTF kind of ways ) so much of what Yogi Bhajan talks about in his teachings on the processes of Kundalini Yoga. A thing that comes up often in "western" based classes is something I am now calling the "GOD" hurdle. A pause in the scientific description that is left blank. In this class I can see and feel this pause as bigger then I have seen or felt it before, people other then me are picking up on it. Much more then they did 12 years ago.... Lets see where that goes.
Blast off, Today I started with an ICE COLD SHOWER..... May have forgot to mention that above, If you want your day to start off with a WOOOOOOOOOWWWWOOOOOOOOWWWWWW get up and jump into an ice cold shower before you sit for you Yoga and Meditation. Talk about strengthening your will power, that step into that cold shower will teach you so much about that. Now im off to school, day one of Craniosacral.... Feeling good, thanks Sat Kriya
Seems like I am the only one out in The Sat Kriya cyber space on the web, I know one other person who is doing this challenge with me, maybe I can get him to do a post. Today I got that meditation in first thing in the morning. In an ideal world that is when my practice is most enjoyable, when I can get up and get my body moving with some exercises and my mind focused with some meditation. I have been reading and seeing in the zeitgeist all kinds of things surfacing about small steps toward large goals. So today's takeaway is....one by one I plan to focus on the little things and in the end get a bunch of shit done. I am meeting with my accountant at 10 am ......... Off I Go.
Well my evening progressed a bit crazy like my day and I found myself in bed at 10:00 pm exhausted. As I was laying there I remembered THE SAT KRIYA CHALENGE...... part of me said ahhhhhhh do it tomorrow, then a part of me said get up and do it now, you made the challenge, Shawn did his and you are going to roll over and go to sleep..... Who won..... I am happy to say Get up and do it now did.
So out of bed and onto the floor I went. I tuned in, set my timer and did my 3 min of SAT KRIYA.
WOW-AS-ALWAYS. When I climbed back into bed I felt completely different, the pressure of my day had been lifted and I relaxed quicker and deeper then I know I would have if the ahhhhhhh tomorrow had won.
Its 6:30 and still sunny.....I have just settled in after a busy yet relaxing day..... I spent my morning posting a forum about meditation instead of meditating.... then ran to a business meeting where I gave a massage.... Then I went to KING SPA for some me time.... and still have not done my 3 min of SAT KRIYA...... What and interesting twisted day. Ill report back once I get it on with Sat Nam....
