Most people are dealing daily with postural stress. That stress tends to manifest in the shoulders and neck. As it progresses, postural stress can show up as pain or weakness in the low back and gluteals caused by prolonged sitting. Massage can counteract this imbalance, caused from sitting, by releasing holding patterns you develop with out even knowing you are doing it. So to keep your desk job from causing becoming a bigger pain in the ass, think about scheduling a regular massage.
