In this body of work—as in much of what I create, especially in my drawings—I focus on the interplay of elements and fluid transitions between things. This series grew out of a drive through my area of New Jersey in late spring and early summer, when the sky, earth, and water seem to merge. In a drawing series, images often flow one into the next, each leading organically to the next until the process finds its own natural resolution. The experience is much like a bodywork session: creative energy is ignited, it moves, and the works are made. Talking and contemplation can feel almost pointless; the art simply needs to exist—and, if we are fortunate, to be seen.
